Social confidence for 5th to 7th graders

Sundays, November 8 & November 15, 3:30–5:00 PM. 5th–7th Grade.

Location: 418 E. Main Street, Richmond

Students in 5th through 7th grade are invited to join a class focused on the social and table skills that help them feel comfortable and confident in a wide range of situations. This class gives them tools for everyday moments: what to say when an adult speaks to them, how to order their own dinner, what to do at a table they didn't set, and how to thank someone in a way they'll remember. We practice all of it out loud, in the room, with real food and real place settings, because knowing it and doing it are two different things and only one of them shows.

Over two 90-minute sessions we practice:

  • Meeting people well, including first impressions, introducing yourself, and introducing two people to each other

  • Answering when an adult speaks to you, and knowing when to wait your turn

  • Sportsmanship with your coach, your teammates, and the other team

  • Sitting, napkins, place settings, and using a fork with confidence

  • Passing, asking, and the quiet signals that tell a server you're finished

  • Ordering for yourself at a restaurant

  • Being the kind of guest who gets invited back

  • Writing a thank-you note worth keeping

Students leave with reference cards for home, and parents get a note after each session so the practice continues at the kitchen table.

Everyday manners, timeless character.
